15 adventurers, two flights, one dress-up-as-a-convict experience, eight delicious dinners, two island lunches, one Bounty Day celebration, six sightseeing tours and a dip in Emily Bay (for some!)… what an amazing week on this beautiful island.
Our stay on Norfolk coincided with the 170th anniversary of the arrival of Pitcairn Island settlers (the descendants of the Bounty mutineers) – and we were lucky enough to witness the annual celebration of Bounty Day. Our fun and informative activities with Pinetree Tours, including an island orientation tour, Cyclorama, the Bounty Museum, Over the Cattlestops Tour, Island Cultural Lunch, Convict Settlement tour and a Breakfast Bushwalk, gave us wonderful insights into the fascinating history and daily life of the island.
And the food! A brilliant progressive dinner, the famous Island Fish Fry, a Bounty Day feast and dining at some of the island’s best restaurants were some of the highlights of the trip.
Norfolk is truly an island paradise – amazing scenery, a relaxing pace and a community bursting with pride in its’ history and connection.
